Has anybody thought about the River Cary / King’s Sedgemoor Drain. This was dug in 1795 to drain the levels and now is restricted in various places. Please clear this and then tackle the rest of the drainage. The drain was the work that formed the levels in the first place - if it is not kept clear ( nothing since 1997 ) the land will revert to marsh.
According to Wikipedia the River Parrett used to follow the course of the King’s Drain near Puriton in Roman times.
