Town Centre

Ropery bridge

Beck Isle bridge

All the town centre is modern and the original banks are a guess but the flood width, determined by Beck Isle bridge, is correct. The area was railway sidings 150 years ago, after Beck Isle Bridge was built, and as such has changed several times. Between Beck Isle and Ropery bridges the beck appears to be down to 7m wide Ropery and Hungate bridges are modern. There appears to be a large drain or something under the west bank by the car park. The recesses beside both bridges are reducing the beck width and Ropery bridge width is critical.
