Beck Isle Bridge

This is the oldest bridge in Pickering, presumably built after the last bridge was swept away 200 years ago, and is 24m wide. This sets the flood width required for this stretch of river. There are 4 arches on the west side, the south arch may have carried a mill race which came down Wells Lane, this is Beck Isle after all. The building to the bottom right of the bridge is new and the next was a mill.
The southeast arch is now blocked and hidden.
